What IS the deal about September and Dolphin Jewelry?!!!

I don't know either, but for one reason or another we've already sold twice as much dolphin jewelry this month than usual and we still have over a week to go.

Since people seem to be in a Dolphin Jewelry frenzy, I want to stir up the waters more and see if I can keep it going at least until Halloween.

Dolphin Slaughter

This is a sad subject and also one that is shockingly unbelievable. That there are still "people" in the world that would do this is beyond comprehension. But, the Japanese annual dolphin slaughter is on again in Taiji, Japan. Every year they herd up around 2000 dolphins with motor boats, bring them into shore, slaughter a magority of them and send the rest to aquariums.

In an aside; I live in Japan and know many Japanese people. They are my friends and my neighbors. They are all very nice and considerate. The ones that I've asked about the dolphin slaughter are just as shocked as you are. The average Japanese has no idea this is going on. So please don't condemn a whole nation on the actions of a few.

A Dolphin Named Bob.

"Bob, can you keep up with me?" "Sue, Look! I'm flying!"

OK. Their names might not be Bob and Sue, but, scientists have proved that dolphins have distinct names and they call each other with whistles. That's cool! Because of the low visibilty in the ocean and the large groups they travel in, dolphins need a way to figure out who's around them and finding their friend. So instead of looking around in the murk they just call out "Hey, Sue. Let's go swim over there by that boat and let those weird animals in the boat take some pictures of us."

Where have I been?
Sorry! I've been away from my post for awhile. If you've tried to write me, I probably didn't get your letter because for some reason or another my email was on the fritz since August 8. Finally I'm back and there were almost 100 letters waiting for me. I've waded through them. No, for hundreth time I don't need V#iaG1ra or whatever clever way they spell it to get past the filters.

So what's hot?

I never can tell what's going to sell or not. Those Water motion pictures are huge. They're selling like hotcakes as the saying goes. I'm glad we have as many as we do. Vacation

Hi again,

I just got back from my vacation to Minnesota. You know Minnesota, right? Vacation-land, USA.

OK. Maybe it's not everyone's first choice for summer vacation, but it is where I'm from so I love going back and seeing my family and friends.

We went to The Minnesota Zoo. It's an incredible place. There was a beautiful dolphin fountain right at the entrance so my wife snapped this picture of me and my children in front of it. I only wish my wife had been in the picture too.

Anyway, dolphin fountains are so cool and fun. If you don't have one, it's time you start thinking about getting one. So here's what to do:

Mesmerizing!!!

I was walking through the mall the other day and I came across a kiosk that was selling Motion Waterfall Pictures. I love those things and, since I sell them on my site, I decided to take a look.

They had some real beautiful ones there. The salesman told me that it didn’t matter what kind of room you put them in. They fit in anywhere; whether it’s next to a moose head or next to a Picasso. I thought it was a very interesting way of putting it and I totally agree with him.

I first saw a Motion Waterfall Picture at a bowling alley when I was around 6 years old. It mesmerized me. It was an old beer sign with a waterfall and a bear on it. I thought it was magic and stared at it for what seemed like an eternity, but as I grew older and a little more discerning, I thought they were a little tacky.

So when I first had the opportunity to offer Motion Waterfall Pictures on my website, I was skeptical. Then I saw what was being offered and jumped at the chance. These things are so beautiful and look so good; I almost bought another one from the guy at the kiosk. But, his prices were very expensive.

He had big ones for over $400 and smaller ones for almost $100. It made me think about how much the ones at allthingsdolphins.com were. Why is there a picture of Rocky on this dolphin blog?

Well, it actually could be any boxer really. I was going to ask what dolphins had in common with Mike Tyson, but figured you'd be thinking in lines of biting ears and that's not where I was going with this short blog. So let me ask you this: what do dolphins have in common with Rocky Balboa? If you've been to my website allthingsdolphins.com, you already know the answer. But if you haven't, I'll tell you. ..(drum roll please)...

they both knock out their opponents.

That's what's similar. There are a few differences though.
1. In Rocky's case he does it for the championship belt. In the dolphins' case, they do it for lunch.
2. Rocky uses his gloved hands. Dolphins use a very loud clicking sound that knocks out small fish or squid in the area.
3. But, I guess the biggest difference is that Rocky doesn't eat his opponent after knocking them out.
